i am also preoccupied with the arrival of rufus, my newest sweetie. i can't wait to offer up advice on any and all subjects related to babies and dogs! but my goal is to wait until i'm asked for said advice, and not be all know-it-all about it (cause i don't).

HOWEVER, i can't help but respond to the myth propagated by breastfeeding professionals that "if it hurts, you're doing it wrong." i speak as a natural childbirth/co-sleeping/breastfeed til they're 2 and 1/2 person when i say it DOES indeed hurt. yes, it does. i will fill ellen in on more intimate details of this, but suffice it to say that it hurts. it hurts less if you're doing it right, and it only hurts for a while (a couple of weeks), and it's totally worth getting through the hurty part. but when they say that, they lie.
