Protest Beards
Miles and I are protesting E’s absence…my reaction has been to grow my protest beard:

Miles protests by not going upstairs to bed at night. I have to lure him upstairs otherwise he would stay curled up on the sofa, waiting for E to return. Miles and I had a great trip to visit old work friends at the beach in South Carolina (scene of the above photo). Miles actually got into the water (albeit on a leash) while chasing birds. I got a little guitar practice and got to “jam” with a better guitarist (I played a chord and he played real music).
By the way, E is having a great time in London. She’s gone to Wales, Greenwich, and to just about every major London museum. Next weekend she’ll head up to Edinburgh to visit our friend Caroline and to reminisce about the year we spent there a DECADE ago! She is finally free of jet lag and a bad cold and feeling healthy. Miles and I miss her a ton and can’t wait until she comes home…luckily we have distractions like school. Also Bert, Bert’s Dad, Show, my brother-in-law, and his wife are going to come visit for my palindrome birthday (I haven’t had one for 10 years)!
