Reading, listening, eating

The weeks are flying by for me now that I have the yardstick of grad school to measure them. The weekends are big blur these days. E and I had to think about what we did a week ago Friday for a good long while before we remembered what we did (ate at a Singaporean restaurant called Merlion–it was a tasty mixture of Thai and Chinese).

This weekend–between my management philosophy paper (be ethical, lead by example, remember your customer, and accept change when it is a good thing), various readings, and my metadata project (I chose to catalog this website)–we went to the Nasher, Duke Gardens, and met up with some library school alums at the OCSC. The Nasher has a cool exhibit featuring a Romanian couple, Dan and Lia Perjovschi. Dan has a lot of funny Shrigley-esque drawings.

I’ve been listening to the new Iron and Wine album..which is great with lots more layers of instruments and sounds happening than in previous albums! I am reading Amy Hempel, The Collected Stories. One of the stories features a mention of a dog eating a box of nails. I love it.

Also, I updated my WordPress version and for some reason the image at the top of my blog changed to a stock photo of a day at the races. I will fix the image when I get a second…maybe next weekend.
