1991
Ellen and I are cleaning the house today and finding all sorts of treasures to recycle or throw out. Part of my problem is I have a huge sentimental attachment to objects like these:

I went to the John Wesley Harding show with Shannon and Pete…on a weeknight in DC when I was 16! Back then DC was even sketchier than it is today. I made the mistake of giving a panhandler a lollipop which was promptly returned/thrown to/at me. The Chili Peppers show included Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam as the openers! In other 1990s news, I was found at Camden Yards by a friend from from high school:

Luckily he doesn’t have any hard feelings about me–I once drove him into a clearance sign when he was standing on my bumper.

get yourself a great big scrap book, david. you don’t have to call it a “scrap book.” you don’t have to think of yourself as a “scrap booker” as you paste your ticket stubs in there. but i don’t think you should get rid of them. it’s all about finding a tidy way to store them.
i remember you saying the name “pearl jam,” and it was the first time i’d heard of them. i kept thinking of them as “grape jelly.”

And what *great* kid that Norm/Mohammad/Dude guy was!! do you remember that he came to our house to tell me that it was his fault & you’d told him to get off the bumper ? I am still amazed & impressed today! And his parents were great, too!

Awww…I went to that RHCP show, I mean tour. In St. Paul, MN, where everyone booed the Smashing Pumpkins. I have the ticket stub here somewhere as well.
