Too cold

I am New Jersey and it is very cold and windy. It was over 70 degrees at home this weekend so this is a complete shock to my southern bones.
Things I like about New Jersey: diners, Princeton, the little towns, Starbucks at rest stops, and the beach. Things I don’t like about New Jersey: turning right to turn left, highways that aren’t highways but people drive on them like they are highways, bad drivers, bad signage, and basically anything having to do with driving. Last time I was here, I stopped kinda short to turn left and the car behind me got rear-ended by a Mom driving a fancy SUV full of little kids behind her. Maybe it is like Massachusetts where I just need to “learn how to drive” (as my father was advised soon after moving to the state by a friendly fellow in a truck at an intersection with one of those blinking yellow lights that don’t really do anything).
I really like Princeton and this time I got a chance to check out the public library which has a similar look and feel to the Oak Park library and has a cafe, a store, and lots of comfy chairs and good light. Next time I am in town I am going to try to take an art and architectural tour of campus–there are some very interesting modern buildings and sculptures around the campus.
Now I am moving on to Red Bank…homeland of the director Kevin Smith.

i was happy to see you would be in princeton — i have happy memories of hanging out on campus with baby zoe when mark was opening the big encore store there. i remember good food, good coffee, great thrift shops (beautiful baby clothes), and friendly students. although it was warm the last time i was there.
