I have been daydreaming about taking an around the world trip. I don't know how that would work out in reality but it is fun to think about and imagine. Also, it is much less expensive than you might think.
AirTreks.com has a nifty trip planner tool where you can add the different places you want to go and see it all on a map. Do I want to go to Japan from Fiji or over to New Zealand?! Should I go overland from Mumbai to Goa or do I want to fly? I wasn't able to get South America in but I did manage Africa (Cairo) and a visit to Budapest (to visit Liz and Mark) on my way back to RDU.

Yeah, but I don't know if I want to be on camera. Plus, you don't get to hang out in a country. It seems like you spend more time on airplanes than on the actual race. I do like the other parts about it...
no, you're right. it would be frustrating. i think i'd try to lose when i was in a country i'd like to stay in!
