Reading...

I am home this week and so I started a book. I am reading the curious incident of the dog in the night-time. It goes well with my current A.D.D. style of reading (which includes various New Yorkers, a couple of other books, and pieces of the New York Times and other magazines from my travels stashed throughout the house). I read a bunch of curious incident today while I ate my breakfast. It is interesting to me how I can identify with some of the autism quirks of the main character...

In other news, Miles is on a chewing binge. I got him a new super tough Kong and he managed to chew little pieces off of the top of it. I also got him some sort of extra strong nylabone that he also started ripping apart. One of the nice things about Miles is that he hasn't chewed on anything that he really shouldn't chew on (no furniture nor any dental devices...yet).

another great book from the perspective of someone with autism is the speed of dark. i actually liked it even more than this one in a way. it's sort of a near-futuristic thriller.

there was a book review in sunday's nyt by a person who identified himself, casually, as autistic about haof way through..! it was in reference to his opinion that the author was wrong to say that emotions were required in order to make choices of some kind..
