Blogging at the Apple Store

I think I have joined the Apple cult now. You can tell most of the followers because they wear white wires attached to their ears. The Soho Apple store is THE place to be in New York. All the pretty and interesting people are there. The Genius Bar people were very punk/indie. Being there just makes you want to buy everything...because I could probably use a iPod Shuffle and a iBook and a wireless mouse and 60 foot screen... I used an iMac like the one we're getting (FedEx keeps on trying to deliver it to us but we aren't there) to check my email. I didn't actually write anything in my blog while I was there but I did take this picture of the blog. I also played around with a Nikon D70 (I guess I better start saving up for one of those or an Olympus eVolt or a Cannon Rebel...some sort of digital SLR). In any case, the Apple store just made want to consume. So I went to the Hampton Chutney Company and got a huge dosa. I also went to kid robot and bought a robot and I went to Kate's Paperie and bought some paper. I also went to moss to look at outrageous designer objects and overheard a couple that were registering for their wedding there. They were being advised not to register for some ceramic thing-a-ma-jigs because they were "display pieces" and they needed to focus on their pieces they could use. In my mind, most of the stuff in moss would be considered a display piece if it were in my house. Would you actually cook soup in a $300 stock pot? I guess this $4000 boob bowl would fall in to the "display piece" category (I think it then becomes a "conversation piece").
